Soest volunteers clean up Industrieweg, named town’s dirtiest street
Volunteers from the organization Bikkel4Planet, led by Jeroen Uijtewaal, collected ten bags of litter on Industrieweg in Soest, labeling it the municipality’s dirtiest street. The cleanup revealed large amounts of cigarette butts, polystyrene foam and plastic debris. Bikkel4Planet, which provides day‑activities for people distant from the labour market, organised a “dirtiest street” contest and highlighted the top ten most polluted roads in the area. The group works alongside municipal services and other local volunteers to improve cleanliness in Soest.
The initiative calls on residents and businesses to take greater responsibility for litter, noting that even small items like discarded filters can accumulate quickly and harm the environment.
