Soever union opposes Consorcios Camineros bill in Entre Ríos

The Road Workers and Employees Union of Entre Ríos (Soever) has called on provincial senators to reject the proposed 'Consorcios Camineros' bill. The union argues that this legislation, when combined with the reform of Public Works Law 6.351, constitutes a coordinated effort to hollow out the Provincial Road Directorate (Vialidad Provincial).

Soever claims the scheme aims to outsource tasks and loosen the management of public resources by creating external structures outside the official road authority. The union warns that this process will eventually leave roads, machinery, and taxpayer funds in the hands of third parties with minimal oversight.

Furthermore, the union criticized a perceived double standard in government bureaucracy. They noted that while the Provincial Road Directorate faces heavy bureaucratic hurdles for basic operations like purchasing spare parts or repairing machinery, the proposed external consortia and private actors would be able to manage funds, fuel, and materials with significantly fewer controls.
