SoFi Technologies Shares Fall After Insider Sale, Analyst Targets Rise
Executive vice president Kelli Keough of SoFi Technologies sold 10,954 shares for about $188,300 on July 20, reducing her stake by roughly 2.9% under a pre‑arranged Rule 10b5‑1 trading plan. The sale was disclosed in an SEC filing. At the time, SoFi’s stock was trading near $17 per share.
Analysts have recently raised their price targets for the fintech firm: Truist lifted its target to $18 from $17, and Goldman Sachs increased its target to $21 from $17. The consensus average target now sits around $20.60, suggesting potential upside of 9% to 25% from the current price. Forecasts for the upcoming second‑quarter earnings, due July 29, anticipate revenue of roughly $1.11 billion—a near‑30% year‑over‑year increase—and earnings per share of about $0.11, up more than 37%.
SoFi’s shares have fallen about 40% year‑to‑date and have spent most of the past six months in the red. Retail sentiment on platforms such as Stocktwits remains bearish ahead of the earnings release.
