Sofia Garnero joins Frascati Scherma

Paralympic fencer Sofia Garnero has joined Frascati Scherma for the 2026-27 season, moving from Club Scherma Roma. Garnero, born in 2006, competes in both foil and épée.

Her immediate competitive goals include the European Championships in Cardiff this October, featuring mixed team events and individual competitions in foil and épée. These performances will serve as initial qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, which she identifies as her primary objective for the next two years.

Garnero is a member of the senior national team and previously secured a silver medal in team competition at last year’s World Championships. She also recently achieved double individual gold in both foil and épée at the Italian Championships in Rome.
