Sofia implements traffic changes on Vladimir Vazov Boulevard

The Sofia Municipality has announced temporary traffic organization changes on Vladimir Vazov Boulevard, effective immediately through September 15, 2026. The restrictions involve closing the southern roadway between Pop Gruyo Street and Stanislav Dospevski Street. During this period, traffic will be diverted to operate in both directions on the northern roadway.

Additional traffic adjustments will be implemented on Pop Gruyo Street and Poruchik Georgi Kyumyurdzhiev Street. Traffic light timings at several key intersections, including those at Stanislav Dospevski and Pop Gruyo streets, will also be modified to accommodate the new flow. Drivers are advised to follow temporary signage and exercise caution as opposing traffic flows will be merged into a single lane in certain sections.

Public transport will be significantly affected, specifically trolleybus lines No. 1 and No. 3. These routes will be shortened to the “Patnostroitelna Tehnika” stop. In one direction, trolleybuses will travel from the Fifth City Hospital and St. Anna Hospital to the “Ul. Vitinya” stop, then proceed via the local roadway and Besarabia Street to reach the new terminus. In the opposite direction, they will depart from the “Patnostroitelna Tehnika” stop and follow a modified route via Vitinya Street to return to their standard paths.
