Sofia man charged after playground assault on 11-year-old

An adult male has been charged with causing light bodily harm to a minor following a conflict at a playground in the Mladost 2 district of Sofia. The incident, which occurred on August 14, involved a dispute between the man and a group of children.

Video footage of the encounter shows the man threatening to take the children to a police station after a disagreement regarding a mobile phone. During the altercation, the 11-year-old victim attempted to flee but was apprehended by the man. The child's father reported that the boy suffered bleeding on his head and neck and was subsequently hospitalized at Pirogov Hospital with a concussion.

The boy remained in the hospital for three days. While he initially experienced sleep disturbances and confusion following the incident, his condition has since improved. The man was detained for 24 hours before being released, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
