Sofia Mayor Terziev Inspects New 3‑km Section of Metro Line 3
Sofia Mayor Vasili Terziev, together with Metro director Nikolay Naydenov, professor Stoyan Bratoev and Deputy Mayor for Transport Victor Chaushov, inspected the new 3‑kilometre stretch of the third metro line under Vladimir Vazov boulevard. The segment is in its final construction phase, with finishing works and test runs of metro trains proceeding. It must receive approval from the state acceptance commission of the National Railway Infrastructure Company before it can open to the public. Authorities expect the three new stations to serve about 45,000 passengers each day, reduce car traffic in the area by up to 25 %, and cut travel time to the city centre to 12–14 minutes. Once completed, Sofia’s metro network will total 55 km and 50 stations, employing modern rail technology.
