Sofia perfume and cosmetics stores face tax violations

Inspectors from the Fiscal Supervision Directorate of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) identified five violations during inspections of ten perfume and cosmetics retailers in Sofia. The checks were conducted within a single day.

The irregularities involved sales reporting and cash accounting, including the failure to issue fiscal receipts, missing mandatory details on receipts, discrepancies between actual cash on hand and amounts registered via fiscal devices, and the absence of receipt books. Two inspections included full inventory audits, seven took place at physical retail locations, and one was initiated via an online order.

The NRA stated these activities aim to ensure compliance with tax and social security legislation and to prevent retail violations. The agency encourages consumers to request fiscal receipts and use the NRA Mobile app to verify transactions by scanning QR codes.
