Sofia prosecutors investigate Ministry of Health official over dental clinic license

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into a Ministry of Health official regarding the licensing of the Medukis Alpha dental clinic in Plovdiv. The investigation focuses on potential dereliction of duty by a responsible official who failed to properly oversee the clinic's medical license, allegedly providing an advantage to the facility.

This inquiry is separate from the criminal proceedings regarding the death of a 6-year-old boy, Angel, who passed away in April 2025 following dental treatment under general anesthesia. Findings from the Executive Agency ‘Medical Supervision’ indicated that the clinic operated in violation of established health regulations.
