Sofia public transport routes changed for tram track repairs

Sofia Municipality has announced temporary changes to public transport routes on September 26 and 27, 2026, due to repairs on the tram tracks for lines 20 and 23.

Tram line 20 will operate on a modified route from Opolchenska metro station to the Geo Milev turnaround. For tram line 23, a temporary two-way bus line will be introduced. This bus service will run from the Druzhba 1 stop at Amsterdam Street, traveling via Dimitar Peshev Street, Iskursko Shose, Asen Yordanov Boulevard, and Shipchenski Prohod, continuing to the Geo Milev bus station via Ivan Dimitrov – Kuklata Street. A new temporary stop, ‘Razklona za letishte’, will be established on Asen Yordanov Boulevard.

Normal service for tram line 20 is expected to resume after 18:00 on both days, at which point the temporary bus line 20TM will be discontinued. Additionally, a separate traffic reorganization on Vladimir Vazov Boulevard remains in effect from September 25 to October 7.
