Sofia to host European Boxing Championship with 15 Olympic medalists
Sofia will host the European Boxing Championship for men and women from September 15 to 26 at the Asics Arena. The event is expected to be the largest Olympic boxing competition of the year.
The tournament will feature nearly 400 boxers representing 38 countries, with total delegations exceeding 750 people. Among the participants are athletes holding 15 Olympic medals from the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Games.
Notable competitors include two-time Olympic gold medalist Kelly Harrington from Ireland and Turkish champion Busenaz Sürmeneli. Bulgarian boxer Javier Ibañez, who won bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics, will also compete in front of the home crowd.
