Sofia tram line 8 route changes due to track repairs

Tram line 8 in Sofia will operate on a shortened route on October 24 and 31, 2026, due to scheduled track repairs. Between 04:30 and 18:00 on these dates, trams will run between Journalist Square and Zapaden Park.

To assist passengers, a temporary bus line, 8TM, will be introduced. This service will run from the Lyulin 5 tram loop via bul. Dr. Petar Dertliev, bul. Pancho Vladigerov, bul. Tsariqa Ioana, ul. Bulina Morava, bul. Aleksandar Stamboliyski, and bul. Vardar, returning via bul. Tsariqa Ioana.

The repair work is scheduled between 08:00 and 18:00 in the sector from the intersection of bul. Vardar and bul. Aleksandar Stamboliyski to the Lyulin 5 tram loop, affecting both tracks. Normal tram service is expected to resume after 18:00 on both days.
