Sofia Voultepsi denies Palestinian genocide in televised debate

A heated political confrontation occurred on the Mega TV program ‘Morning Point’ between New Democracy MP Sofia Voultepsi and representatives from PASOK and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

The dispute arose when Thodoris Kotsantis, Secretary of the KKE Central Council, referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a ‘genocidal butcher’ while discussing upcoming protests in Thessaloniki. Voultepsi reacted strongly, denying that a genocide is occurring in Palestine. When asked by PASOK’s Giannis Raptis whether a genocide has taken place, Voultepsi responded, ‘No, it didn't. Genocide is the Pontic one, not every one you say! I do not accept such things.’
