Sofia–Pernik road closure near Vladaya for major repairs

A section of the Sofia–Pernik road near the village of Vladaya will be closed for repairs starting November 2. The construction project, estimated to cost approximately 5 million euros, is expected to last between three and four weeks.

The work involves replacing the road surface and constructing a collector system to manage water runoff and improve safety. This specific section of the road has been the site of 40 accidents, including two fatalities, since the beginning of the year. Following the completion of this phase, further repairs are planned for the spring.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted through the village of Vladaya. Authorities have noted that heavy trucks will not be permitted to pass through the village to minimize disruption. Police teams will be deployed to manage traffic flow and ensure safety. Drivers are advised to use the Struma motorway or plan for additional travel time.
