Sofitel Istanbul Taksim wins two major hospitality awards

Sofitel Istanbul Taksim has received two major honors at the 2026 Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards. The hotel was named ‘Best City Hotel in Türkiye’ and ‘Best Sustainable Hotel in Türkiye’.

In terms of environmental impact, the hotel reported offsetting 2,377 tons of CO2e in 2025 and sourcing 54% of its energy from renewable resources. Additionally, the property implemented food waste tracking systems that reduced waste by 20% within a six-month period. The hotel’s sustainability efforts also include vertical gardens for organic produce and the preservation of local cultural traditions through its spa and traditional Turkish bath facilities.
