Sofitel Mauritius L’Impérial celebrates 35 years of operation

Sofitel Mauritius L’Impérial Resort & Spa marked its 35th anniversary, celebrating its history of hospitality on the west coast of Mauritius. The resort, which opened on 27 October 1991, held a commemorative event featuring music, light displays, and fireworks.

The resort's history traces back to the mid-1980s following meetings in Taipei between representatives of the Taiwanese hospitality group Rich Sands Ltd and Mauritian officials, including then Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth. Under the architectural direction of Maurice Giraud, construction began in 1989 to establish the property.
