Mexico women's softball team qualifies for 2027 World Cup

The Mexico women's national softball team has qualified for the 2027 World Cup Finals in Redcliffe, Australia, after defeating China 8-6 in Oklahoma City. This victory secures one of the two direct group stage spots available during the tournament phase.

The eight nations confirmed for the 2027 Finals are the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico, Chinese Taipei, Australia (the host), and China, who received a wild card from the WBSC. These teams will compete for berths to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

While Mexico secured its place, Italy will not participate in the Finals after failing to receive a wild card following a decisive playoff loss to Chinese Taipei. Italy retains future opportunities through continental and global pre-Olympic qualifiers.
