Softlab presents GRAMS airport management platform at IDE 2026
During the IDE – Industry Digital Evolution 2026 event held in Brindisi, discussions focused on the digital transformation of Italy's critical infrastructure, specifically regarding airport management. Softlab presented its GRAMS platform, which is designed to coordinate ground operations and manage complex logistical data.
The GRAMS system is currently utilized at Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, as well as Catania airport through various operators. The software manages essential information including flight data, staff shifts, equipment availability, and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. By providing real-time updates, the platform allows operators to reorganize resources effectively in response to flight delays or unexpected schedule changes.
Fabrizio Pasanisi of Softlab noted that the primary challenge in airport management is the need for different organizations to work on the same operational processes without a single unified chain of command. The software serves to integrate information and activities from diverse entities to provide a shared, updated view of field operations. The discussion also highlighted the potential of digital twins to help govern such complex environments.
