Software companies integrate AI into document management workflows

Software developers are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence into document management and automation workflows. Wondershare has launched PDFelement V13, which introduces the ‘Spaces-Knowledge-Workspace’ and an ‘Agreement Copilot’. The ‘Spaces’ feature allows users to bundle PDFs, notes, and videos into an AI-powered workspace where they can ask questions, generate summaries, create mind maps, or produce audio formats like podcasts based on the collected data. The ‘Agreement Copilot’ focuses on legal document management, including contract comparison, protection, and digital signatures.

Other industry players are following similar trends. Foxit has released PDF Editor 2026.2, which emphasizes ‘Local AI’ to perform tasks like summarization and analysis directly on the user's device. This version also supports ‘Bring-Your-Own-Model’ integration for services such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Claude. Lumin PDF Corporation has launched a browser-based workspace for collaborative editing and electronic signatures.

In regulated sectors, automation is becoming a standard. S-Docs has introduced AI-driven tools for the Salesforce ecosystem, including a visual template editor and an AI-powered template agent. Market data indicates that 72% of organizations in regulated industries already utilize AI in at least one document-related workflow.
