Software engineer found dead in Chengalpattu after trading losses

A 37-year-old software engineer, identified as Anandraj, was found dead in a hotel room in Chengalpattu after allegedly losing significant funds in online trading.

According to police reports, the deceased had accumulated debts exceeding Rs 60 lakh by borrowing from banks, friends, and relatives to fund his trading activities. He had reportedly been under severe mental stress due to these financial losses.

Anandraj, who worked for a private firm in Ramapuram, checked into the lodge on Monday evening. After he failed to answer calls from his wife, a missing person complaint was filed. Hotel staff alerted authorities when he did not respond to knocks on his door, leading police to discover his body. A note was recovered from the scene in which he apologized to his family and detailed the debts incurred through online trading. The Chengalpattu Town police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
