SOG ASP Mukesh Kumar Soni arrested in 2 crore rupee bribery case
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Mukesh Kumar Soni, an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) with the Special Operations Group (SOG), for allegedly demanding a bribe of 2 crore rupees. The demand was made in exchange for filing a Final Report (FR) and returning seized items related to the high-profile 272-plot scam in Udaipur.
The arrest follows the apprehension of a middleman, Sajjan Singh Jain, who was caught red-handed by the ACB while accepting the money. The sting operation involved 4 lakh rupees in genuine currency and 1.96 crore rupees in dummy notes.
According to reports, the deal was facilitated during a meeting in a car, where Soni allegedly signaled his involvement by displaying the figure ‘2 crore’ on his mobile phone screen to the complainant. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the corruption and the involvement of other personnel.
