Sogamoso former mayor loses lawsuit over fiscal responsibility ruling

The Sixth Administrative Court of the Tunja Circuit has denied a lawsuit filed by Sandro Néstor Condía Pérez, the former mayor of Sogamoso, who sought to overturn a fiscal responsibility ruling issued by the General Comptroller of Boyacá.

The legal matter stems from a contract for the acquisition of institutional security metal fences intended for public events in the municipality. The initial fiscal responsibility was set at approximately 67.9 million pesos, a figure that has since been indexed.

In his lawsuit, Condía Pérez requested the revocation of the decision and sought 138 million pesos in damages from the Comptroller's office. However, the court concluded that the former mayor's arguments failed to refute the reasons for the fiscal responsibility, which was linked to his role as the expenditure administrator and his signing of the purchase contract.
