Sognielettrici science fiction festival returns to Milan

The fifth edition of Sognielettrici, a festival dedicated to science fiction and the fantastic imaginary, will take place from October 26 to October 30, 2026, at the IULM University in Milan. The event features a program open to the public with free admission.

The festival includes the screening of 14 feature films and 29 short films, alongside 10 meetings and 30 guests. An academic conference will focus on the ‘New Weird’ movement. The international competition features works from 23 countries, including world and European premieres.

In addition to contemporary speculative fiction, the program includes retrospectives of classic science fiction cinema, such as Tarkovsky’s ‘Stalker’. The event aims to use imagination as a tool to analyze reality through various media and disciplines.
