Sokhna Port to receive 1 billion EGP digital truck management yard
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has signed a contract with Nafez Egypt Logistics Services to develop and operate a digital truck management yard at Sokhna Port. The project involves an investment exceeding 1 billion Egyptian pounds and covers an area of 167,000 square meters.
Once fully operational, the facility is expected to have a capacity of 1,100 trucks per day. The new system will utilize advanced technological solutions via Nafez digital platforms to provide real-time planning for truck movements, aiming to reduce congestion within the port.
Mostafa Shikhoun, Chairman of the SCZONE, stated that the initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade port infrastructure and work methods through partnerships with the local and international private sectors. The goal is to enhance the region's logistical capabilities and integrate ports with industrial zones to support global supply chains and national export visions.
