Sokodé artisans undergo training in ecological septic tank construction
Thirty artisans, including masons, plumbers, and ironworkers, are participating in a professional training program in Sokodé, Togo. The workshop, running from September 28 to October 3, focuses on the construction and maintenance of ecological septic tanks and non-emptiable soakaways.
The initiative is organized by the Central Regional Chamber of Trades (CRM-C) in collaboration with the Technical and Professional Institute/Carrefour des leaders (ITP/CDL), with financial support from the National Fund for Apprenticeship, Training, and Professional Development (FNAFPP).
The training aims to introduce new technologies to address pollution issues and improve sanitation standards. Officials noted that the program is designed to transform artisans into key actors for sustainable development by providing them with modern technical skills applicable to their construction sites.
