Sokol Gornji Miholjac hunting association celebrates 80th anniversary

The Sokol Gornji Miholjac hunting association celebrated its 80th anniversary with a formal ceremony in Slatina. Founded in 1946, the association has established a long-standing tradition focused on unity, wildlife care, and nature conservation.

The event brought together association members, hunting union representatives, local and county officials, and guests from across Croatia and Hungary. The celebrations included a Holy Mass at St. Barbara Church in Sladojevci, led by Parish Priest Darijo Šimić, to honor both living and deceased hunters.

Association President Dražen Hodak noted that the organization currently consists of 59 members managing a hunting ground covering 6,740 hectares. He emphasized that the association's value lies in the dedication of the generations of hunters who have worked to maintain the organization and its commitment to environmental balance.
