Sokolský běh republiky to celebrate Czechoslovak independence
The eighth annual Sokolský běh republiky is scheduled to take place on October 28, commemorating the founding of Czechoslovakia. The event aims to celebrate the national holiday through physical activity, connecting more than 90 locations both within the Czech Republic and internationally.
Participating locations include various Czech towns such as Kutná Hora, Terezín, and Zlatá Olešnice, as well as international sites like Cabo Roig in Spain and Washington, D.C. The races typically feature routes ranging from 4 to 10 kilometers and often include programs for children.
The event is designed for all fitness levels, including families and recreational athletes, rather than strictly competitive runners. Notable ambassadors supporting the event include former footballer Petr Švancara, fencer Alexander Choupenitch, and water slalomists Tereza Kneblová, Jakub Krejčí, and Vít Přindiš.
