Sokoto Governor Ahmed Aliyu receives Good Governance Award

Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has received the Blueprint Newspapers 2025 Good Governance, Institutional Renewal and Sustainable Development Award. The honor was formally presented at the Sokoto State Government House by the Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Bashar Ummarun Kwabo.

The award recognizes the administration’s efforts since May 2023, specifically citing the 9-Point Smart Agenda. Key achievements highlighted include investments in road infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, education, and agriculture. Additionally, the administration has recruited 3,000 personnel into the State Civil Service and is in the process of recruiting 2,440 Community Health Extension Workers to serve across the state’s 244 wards.
