Kaduna security: Terrorist kingpin arrested and ADC protesters dispersed

Nigerian military and police forces have conducted several high-profile operations in Kaduna State. The Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two syndicate members during a clearance operation at a hideout in Kubau Local Government Area. In separate actions, troops intercepted a 50-year-old woman in Igabi Local Government Area who was allegedly transporting 300 rounds of ammunition, and arrested a suspected logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari.

Additionally, troops foiled a terrorist attack in Unguwan Gardago Village, Kaduna North, where they engaged militants who had looted motorcycles and phones. While the military recovered stolen items and weapons, they reported that one civilian was killed during the encounter.

In a separate security matter, the Kaduna State Police Command used tear gas to disperse a crowd of African Democratic Congress (ADC) supporters. The police stated the intervention was necessary after the group allegedly attempted to forcefully enter Murtala Square and subsequently blocked major roadways, causing severe traffic congestion and threatening public order. The command clarified that the action was intended to maintain normalcy rather than restrict constitutional rights to assembly.
