Sokoto State adopts new strategy to combat banditry

Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu has announced a renewed and more robust security strategy aimed at combating banditry and facilitating the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral communities.

Aliyu reported that increased collaboration with security agencies is already producing results, including the rescue of kidnapped individuals and the recovery of thousands of rustled livestock. Specific successes were noted in the Rabah, Tureta, and Kebbe Local Government Areas.

To strengthen these operations, the state government is providing security agencies with new armored vehicles and additional operational equipment. The governor emphasized that the administration will continue to support security forces with necessary resources to protect lives and property until rural communities are safe.
