Sokoto State urges ONSA to extend security crisis response drill

The Sokoto State Government has requested that the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) extend its Rapid Response 3 Crisis Response Exercise to the state. Col. Ahmed Usman (rtd.), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, commended the federal initiative and emphasized the need for regular testing of crisis management architectures.

Usman noted that security threats, particularly banditry, are dynamic and require agencies to continuously evaluate their operational readiness. He argued that conducting simulations allows security forces, emergency responders, and government authorities to identify gaps and improve communication, command, and control under a unified structure before a real crisis occurs. The state expressed readiness to host the drill to assess preparedness in communities currently facing security challenges.
