Sokołów Podlaski to hold funeral for Lost Children

A funeral ceremony for Lost Children is scheduled to take place in Sokołów Podlaski on October 15. The service will be held at the Co-cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with Bishop Piotr Sawczuk of Drohicyn presiding over the Mass.

The ceremony includes the interment of children who passed away before birth into a collective grave. This initiative was established through an agreement between the Independent Public Health Care Center in Sokołów Podlaski, the Drohicyn Diocese, the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish, a funeral home, and the ‘Unitum’ Association.

The signatories of this agreement provide these services free of charge to ensure dignified burials for stillborn children whose families have not opted for individual funerals. Funding for the construction of the Lost Children Monument was raised by the ‘Unitum’ Association through collections in local parishes.
