Sol de América and Rubio Ñu advance in Copa Paraguay

Sol de América and Rubio Ñu have advanced to the round of 16 in the Copa Paraguay.

Sol de América secured a 2-1 victory against Sportivo Trinidense at the Óscar Hugo Sosa stadium. Jorge Mora and Julio Rivarola scored for Sol de América, while Luis Abreu provided the lone goal for Sportivo Trinidense. Sol de América is set to face Sportivo 2 de Mayo in the next stage.

Rubio Ñu eliminated the defending champion, General Caballero de Juan León Mallorquín, following a penalty shootout. After the match ended in a draw with goals from Rodrigo Gómez and Enzo Alegre for General Caballero and Lucas Montiel and Aarón Páez for Rubio Ñu, goalkeeper Franco Fragueda secured the win by saving two penalties. Rubio Ñu will face the winner of the Resistencia SC versus Cerro Porteño match in the round of 16.
