Sola Ebiseni resigns from Afenifere and joins APC

Sola Ebiseni has resigned as the Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization Afenifere and left the Labour Party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made during a meeting with Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the Government House in Akure.

Ebiseni, who previously served as the South-West Coordinator for Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign, declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 elections. He stated that maintaining the presidency in southern Nigeria is essential for the political stability of the federation.

Ebiseni also cited local development as a primary motivation, specifically noting that the implementation of a coastal road project is vital for the Ilaje coastal people of Ondo State. Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the move, noting that Ebiseni’s political experience and leadership roles would be significant assets to the APC campaign structures.
