Solana ecosystem sees surging activity and rent reductions

The Solana ecosystem is experiencing significant technical and economic shifts. On the network level, Solana has activated the second phase of a five-part plan to reduce account storage costs by 90%. This move makes approximately 612,000 SOL reclaimable for users, with the potential to unlock over 3 million SOL in total across the full rollout.

Market activity is also surging, with Solana's cumulative decentralized exchange (DEX) volume surpassing $3 trillion. The Raydium exchange saw a 96.5% weekly surge, fueled by record buybacks and the launch of tokenized US stocks including Boeing and Costco.

Financially, SOL price action is showing bullish momentum, with analysts eyeing potential targets of $147 to $150 if the token reclaims the $105 level. This comes amid high network engagement, including over 260,000 new token launches per day. Large-scale staking remains a major factor, with Coinbase holding approximately 24 million SOL, valued at roughly $2.45 billion.
