Solana surges past $100 amid record ETF inflows and governance shifts

Solana (SOL) has experienced a significant market resurgence, with its price climbing back above the $100 psychological threshold. This rally is supported by record-breaking institutional interest, specifically through US-based spot Solana ETFs. The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) has become a major driver, recently surpassing $1 billion in assets under management and capturing a significant portion of daily ETF inflows.

In addition to ETF demand, Charles Schwab announced plans to expand its Schwab Crypto platform to include Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink, potentially broadening retail access. On-chain activity also shows a notable $9.74 million purchase by a previously inactive trader.

Simultaneously, the Solana network is undergoing critical governance changes. Validators are voting on proposals (SIMD-550 and SIMD-553) aimed at tightening tokenomics. These proposals seek to accelerate the reduction of SOL inflation to a 1.5% floor by 2029, a move that could significantly decrease future token emissions and impact staking yields.
