Ethereum Foundation hosts Devcon 8 in Mumbai to discuss digital infrastructure

The Ethereum Foundation has launched Devcon 8 in Mumbai, India, marking the first time the flagship conference is held in South Asia. Running from November 3 to 6 at the Jio World Centre, the event focuses on infrastructure, security, privacy, and public goods.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin opened the summit by addressing the fundamental challenge of trust in modern technology, including operating systems, hardware, and artificial intelligence. The conference coincides with the publication of an essay by the Ethereum Foundation regarding digital public sovereignty and infrastructure, aiming to position the network beyond mere asset pricing.

The program covers technical protocol improvements and real-world applications, with a specific emphasis on privacy, open-source software, and the convergence of AI and blockchain technology.
