Solana validators vote on three major governance proposals
Solana validators and delegators have commenced voting on three major governance proposals aimed at reforming the network’s structure and economic model. The voting process, which began on August 23, is expected to conclude at the end of epoch 1023, approximately 15:30 UTC on August 27.
The three proposals include:
SGP-0001: The Solana Constitution, which seeks to establish a canonical framework for network-level decisions and activate the svmgov on-chain governance system.
SGP-0002: Double Disinflation, a proposal to increase the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30% while maintaining the network’s terminal inflation floor.
SGP-0003: Resource and Inclusion Fee, which proposes a redesigned transaction fee structure featuring a fixed inclusion payment and a resource fee that is burned by the protocol.
These are stake-weighted signaling votes. While approval would provide a mandate for further development, any changes to inflation or fee structures would still require technical review and implementation before becoming active.
