Solane and PASCO launch Sagip Karinderia for small food businesses
Solane and the Philippine Association of Sari-Sari Store and Carinderia Owners (PASCO) have launched Sagip Karinderia, a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting Filipino food-service micro and small enterprises. The program is designed to help small business owners navigate rising operating costs and workplace safety hazards.
The initiative provides practical support through education and financial assistance. This includes training on kitchen safety, LPG emergency response, and energy-efficient gas usage to minimize waste and prevent fire hazards. Additionally, the program offers subsidies in the form of discounts on LPG supplies to help ease the burden of fuel costs for carinderias, eateries, and food carts.
Following an inaugural session in San Juan City, the program is being extended across a nationwide network of more than 13,000 PASCO members through regional caravan sessions in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
