Solange Skeene advocates for Protect College Sports Act on Capitol Hill

Solange Skeene, a tennis standout from George Washington University, represented the university and the Atlantic 10 Conference on Capitol Hill to advocate for the Protect College Sports Act. Skeene was among approximately 30 student-athletes and coaches who participated in a press conference to voice support for the legislation.

The Protect College Sports Act seeks to establish national regulations for student-athlete compensation, implement transfer limitations, and create a five-year window for athletic eligibility. Supporters argue the bill is essential for the stability of non-revenue-generating and Olympic sports. The Senate recently voted 74-24 to advance the act, marking a significant step toward potential implementation as law later this year.
