Solar eclipse draws crowds to Pärnu, Estonia

A rare solar eclipse drew crowds to the Raeküla beach in Pärnu, Estonia, where observers used makeshift tools such as welding masks, CDs, and even snack boxes to view the phenomenon. While Estonia experienced a partial eclipse covering nearly four-fifths of the sun, a total eclipse was visible in regions including Northern Spain, Iceland, and Greenland.

Aarne Paul, an astronomy instructor from the Pernova Education Centre, traveled to Northern Spain with a small group to witness the full darkness of the total eclipse. Because the event occurred near sunset, observers were advised to seek low-lying areas with views toward the west and northwest for the best visibility.
