Solar energy advancements target home automation and storage
New advancements in solar energy integration are targeting both residential automation and flexible energy storage.
DeFAVERI has introduced Solar, a plug-and-play solution for window openings that utilizes solar power to drive automation without requiring a grid connection. The system incorporates Somfy technology, including a BLDC motor and a monocrystalline photovoltaic panel with an integrated solar sensor. It features a rechargeable NiMH battery providing up to 45 days of autonomy and can be integrated with TaHoma smart home systems for remote control and customized environmental scenarios.
At IFA 2026, BLUETTI showcased a new generation of energy management systems, headlined by the Balco 500. This all-in-one balcony solar system includes a 5,024 Wh LFP battery designed to move beyond simple plug-in limits. By connecting up to three units to an electrical panel, the system can provide up to 11 kW of power to cover an entire household. Other showcased products include the Pioneer 5000 E-Generator for professional sites and the Elite mini series of compact power stations.
