Solar energy expansion continues in Rajasthan with new projects

KPI Green Energy has secured a Rs 2,025 crore turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 500 MW solar power project in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The project, located in Khajuwala tehsil, is being commissioned by NACOF Oorja Private Limited as part of a larger 5,000 MW solar park. KPI Green Energy is responsible for the full scope of work, including design, equipment supply, installation, and commissioning, with a 12-month timeline following site handover.

In a separate development in the same region, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) announced the commercial operation of the 81.34 MW Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner. This capacity is part of a larger 650 MW solar component under a round-the-clock (RTC) project. With this commissioning, the total commercial operational capacity of the NGEL group has risen to 10,977.23 MW, bringing its total installed capacity to 11,058.57 MW.
