Energy sector developments expand across Argentina and Ecuador

Various energy developments and investment initiatives are underway across Argentina and Ecuador. In Argentina, President Javier Milei used his address to the UN General Assembly to invite international companies to invest in the Vaca Muerta formation, emphasizing its potential as a global energy leader while excluding firms involved in Malvinas resource exploitation.

In the renewable sector, the Arauco Solar I plant in La Rioja achieved a significant milestone, reaching a 31.27% load factor in August 2026, ranking it third nationally. Meanwhile, MSU Green Energy SA is advancing legal steps to build a solar complex in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Chaco. Other regional projects include the collaborative solar park in María Teresa and the approval of a 2026-2036 Energy Master Plan in San Luis to address future demand.

In Ecuador, the industrial company PICA has inaugurated a 10,000 kWp photovoltaic system. The project is expected to cover over 60% of the company's electricity demand, providing energy autonomy and reducing pressure on the national grid during the dry season.

Additionally, infrastructure improvements are being addressed in Argentina, such as the agreement to provide electrical and public lighting for the Sans Souci housing development.
