Solar energy regulations see updates in Spain and Cuba

In the Valencian Community, Spain, the Generalitat has approved a new instruction aimed at accelerating the administrative processes for installing solar panels and electrical installations. Vicente Martínez Mus, the regional Minister of Environment and Infrastructure, stated that the goal is to reduce processing times from months or years to just a few weeks. He emphasized that this administrative simplification is intended to facilitate business activity and investment without reducing legal requirements or environmental protections.

In Cuba, experts have clarified the regulations regarding residential solar energy. Architect Dania González Couret, founder of Cuba Solar, noted that installing solar panels on private homes does not require complicated permits or procedures. She advocated for utilizing urban rooftops for photovoltaic systems to avoid using agricultural land required for large-scale rural solar parks. Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mines also highlighted the country's solar potential and the benefits of the technology.
