Poland announces new agricultural subsidies and energy transition grants

Poland is implementing several new agricultural and environmental funding initiatives. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has withdrawn planned restrictions for 2027 regarding area-based eco-schemes, ensuring continued financial support for integrated crop production and carbon farming. Additionally, a draft regulation proposes compensation for farmers affected by 2026 spring frosts, hail, and storms, with aid ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 PLN per hectare depending on the severity of crop losses.

In the energy sector, significant funding is being directed toward green transitions. The “Green Transformation” program, financed by the EEA Grants, provides over 807 million PLN for climate protection and local energy projects. For individual households, the second part of the “Home Energy Storage” program (PME2) is set to launch on October 20, 2026, with a 1 billion PLN budget to support energy storage installations. Meanwhile, the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR) has opened applications for agricultural micro-biogas plants, offering up to 1.5 million PLN in aid.

Regarding existing programs, the “Energy for the Village” initiative has exhausted its initial 400 million PLN allocation, though the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) may increase the budget using savings from previous editions.
