Solarcamp Altenberg to host solar technology training and energy dialogue

The third Solarcamp Altenberg is scheduled to take place at Schloss Lauenstein from September 7 to 12. Organized by the Naturschutzstation Osterzgebirge in collaboration with regional specialists and companies, the one-week camp combines theoretical instruction with practical training in solar technology and module installation.

On September 9, the event will host an energy dialogue supported by the European Climate Pact. This session aims to facilitate discussion between citizens and experts regarding the energy transition, regional value creation, and the impact of EU decisions on the local area.

The camp serves as an introduction to the solar profession and offers support for finding internships in regional companies, though it does not replace formal vocational training. The initiative addresses a significant labor shortage; a study commissioned by the Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs revealed that 206 out of 380 surveyed craft businesses in the sector are currently seeking new employees or apprentices.
