Solarpunk anthology explores positive climate change narratives

The publication of ‘Solarpunk – Nuovi sguardi sul domani’, an anthology curated by Franco Ricciardiello and released by Mondadori under the Urania Speciale imprint, marks a significant moment for the Solarpunk movement in Italy.

Unlike traditional dystopian science fiction that often focuses on post-apocalyptic ruin, Solarpunk serves as a social science fiction genre that addresses the climate crisis through a lens of ecological restoration and community action. The movement combines the concept of ‘solar’—focused on renewable energy and biosphere balance—with the ‘punk’ ethos of grassroots mobilization and DIY principles.

The volume features various authors within the Italian Solarpunk scene, including Lorenzo Davia, Stefano Carducci, Alessandro Fambrini, and others, offering a narrative laboratory for practical survival and collective reorganization in the face of environmental challenges.
