Germany's The smarter E Europe event highlights new solar and storage tech

At The smarter E Europe trade fair in Munich, leading energy companies unveiled a range of new products and projects. Sonnen’s chief revenue officer announced a shift toward a service‑focused booth concept and a new commercial storage system for small photovoltaic installations. Solarwatt introduced the Battery vision 2.0 home storage unit, offering 42 % more usable capacity (4.3 kWh) in roughly the same footprint and modular scalability up to 259 kWh.

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) secured 2.3 GW of grid‑connection capacity for solar‑and‑battery projects across Germany, aiming for ready‑to‑build status between 2026 and 2029. The EUPD Group, together with JF4S and IBESA, organised market briefings, networking sessions and a China‑EU Solar & Energy Storage dialogue to foster industry collaboration. Dutch manufacturer GoodWe showcased utility‑scale battery containers (2–5 MWh) and a new home energy‑management system at the Intersolar portion of the event.

These announcements underscore a broad industry push toward higher‑capacity storage, integrated energy management and accelerated deployment of renewable power in Germany and Europe.
