Soldier killed in Iğdır military vehicle accident

A military vehicle accident in the Aralık district of Iğdır resulted in the death of 24-year-old Contracted Private Ziyar Koparan and injuries to two other soldiers. The incident occurred while the vehicle was on patrol near the Şehit Bülent Aydın Post.

Following an official military ceremony at the Iğdır 5th Border Brigade Command, Koparan’s remains were transported via aircraft to Van and then by military helicopter to his hometown of Yüksekova, Hakkari. A funeral service was held at the Mustafa Zeydan Mosque, where he was laid to rest in the Akalın neighborhood cemetery. The ceremony was attended by Hakkari Governor İbrahim Taşyapan, local officials, and military personnel.

Separately, various regional reports noted other deaths and funeral services across Turkey, including the passing of former CHP Aydın Provincial Chairman Ali Çankır in Nazilli, and several local citizens in Kırıkkale and Trabzon.
